Functional, Biaxially-oriented Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVOH) Film Bovlon

Features

Superior gas barrier performance

  • Bovlon creates a strong barrier against oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and other such gases.
  • It preserves fragrances and flavors and protects them from outside elements.
  • It is particularly suited to preserving sublimation materials.

Excellent oil and solvent resistance

  • Bovlon displays strong resistance to oils, fats, and organic solvents.

Strong mechanical strength

  • Bovlon's mechanical strength prevents it from readily tearing, receiving an impact, or piercing.

Outstanding secondary workability, with high gloss and transparency

  • Bovlon provides high dimensional stability, outstanding workability in secondary processes such as printing and laminating, and strong adhesion.
  • Moreover, its high gloss and transparency enhances the appearance of the packaged content.

Static resistance

  • Bovlon has surface OH groups that help minimize the occurrence of static electricity.

High weather resistance

  • As Bovlon remains unaffected by UV rays, it provides high weather resistance.

Heat shielding and retaining properties

  • Because Bovlon blocks infrared rays, it is ideal for use as an agricultural curtain, to control temperature rises during the daytime and prevent temperature drops during the nighttime.

High hydrophilic properties and moisture permeability

  • Bovlon has an affinity for water and prevents misting, so it is commonly used for packaging fresh produce. Recently, it is also being used widely as an agricultural material.
  • It effectively controls humidity inside a package by allowing water vapor to escape when humidity is high and keeping water vapor in when humidity is low.
  • Bovlon can absorb an amount of moisture corresponding to 5% to 20% its own weight.

Good mold-releasing properties

  • Bovlon molecules contain many hydroxyl groups, which allow Bovlon film to detach easily from hydrophobic resin.
